Kurt Busch's shocking news shocks the NASCAR community

Read Now

It appears that Kurt Busch won't be taking the wheel for the remainder of the season after missing the last four NASCAR Cup Series races due to injuries.

The NASCAR driver made the decision to sit out the rest of the regular season public on Thursday afternoon. He will therefore be absent from the last two Cup Series events at Watkins Glen International and Daytona International Speedway.

Busch stated in a statement on Thursday that "as much as I want to get back in the vehicle, the moment is still not right." Although difficult, this choice was the right one. I must race at full capacity. I owe that to everyone at 23XI, our collaborators, my rivals, and the supporters.

Busch will miss the remainder of the regular season but is making efforts to get better in order to start the NASCAR playoffs at Darlington in September.

Busch stated in his statement, "It's my desire to be back in the No. 45 Toyota Camry to start the playoffs."

While the news is shocking, the NASCAR world applauds Busch for putting his health first.
